Tennis "Butch O. Richardson

Tennis "Butch" O Richardson, age 86 passed away on August 1, 2024 at the Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mr. Richardson was born on May 2, 1938, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Tennis Oliver Richardson and Jane Cole. After graduating high school, Tennis dedicated his career to Ranch Management, working for John Hughes and Dan Gallery for 29 years and Jim Ratciff for 14 years. He served in the Army as a General Supply Specialist and Stock Control Clerk in Fort Sill, OK from 1962-1964. He was honorably discharged. Tennis married his wife Linda K. Richardson on August 26, 1988. He was recognized with a bricklayer award and enjoyed fishing throughout his life. He was proud to have won first place at Guthrie, Oklahoma for a team event, OCA. He was also a proud member of The Grand Lodge of OK Ancient, Free & Accepted Masons from 1971- death. He received a 50 year recognition Award in 2021. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Jane Cole Richardson, his Father, Tennis O. Richardson and his Sister, Nancy Spruill. He is survived by his wife, Linda Richardson, of the home, his children, Mike Richardson and wife, Mitzi, of Bartlesville, OK, Jody Green, of Cedar Vale, KS and Chance Richardson and fiancée, Diana Jones, of Bartlesville, OK. Two sisters, Terri Kemohah and husband, Tom (Brett and Tera Jan) of Vinita, OK. Stepchildren, Kelley Henderson and husband, Jim, of Lansing, KS, Nick Babcock and wife, Natalie, of Queen Creek, AZ, DeeDee Wells Buckland and husband, Guy, of Bartlesville, OK, Michelle Petrie and husband, Gary, of Bartlesville, OK. Grandchildren Michelle Golden and husband, Dwayne, (Macie & Cable) of Collinsville, OK, Kelli Sumner and husband, Keith, (Jacie Jo & Lani) of Ramona, OK, Travis Richardson and fiancée, Tyra (Jada & CW) of Bartlesville, OK and Jill Richardson of Bartlesville, OK. Step Grand Children, Kelsey Melton Osburn and husband, David, (Kyler, Kenzie, Paisley & Nathan) of Bartlesville, OK ,Kayleigh Bloom and husband, Matt, (Violet) of Palmer Lake, CO, Heather Griggs and husband, George (Chy & Walker) of Bartlesville, OK, Jake Henderson and wife, Elizabeth, of Lansing, KS, Paige Rice and husband, Kenny, (Jack) of Bonner Springs, KS and Gavin Petrie and wife, Julia, of Bartlesville. Butch was one of the last of the toughest old cowboys around. He loved spending time with his family, cooking, having fish and calf fry’s, smoking meat and fishing! He loved canning his special recipe BBQ Sauce and salsa every year for Christmas gifts for his family. He enjoyed watching and feeding the squirrels in his backyard and helping with the yard work when he could. He really liked to have a cold beer and reminisce about his days as a cowboy, the wonderful things he had done in his life and about the friends he had made along the way. He will be missed and remembered with lots of love by his family and friends.
