Beloved Richard Allen Boone Richard was born on April 1, 1966 at Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Mrs. Darlene Faye (Blower) Boone and Mr. Wayne Leroy Boone making him the second child of four (4) for the family. Richard left this world and his family to be with our Lord on January 7, 2024. He was outside which he loved, on his own property helping out a friend as he did so often. Richard was suddenly taken from us at the young age of 57 on a bright, sunny day in a place where he loved to be. Richard was a graduate of the Class of 1984 of Delaware High School. After he graduated, he attended Tri County Technical School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and became a Certified Auto Body Technician. Richard loved everything about cars and always intended to spend some of his retirement years restoring and collecting antique vehicles with his good friend, Hank Baker. Richard had completely restored a 1966 Ford F100 Truck from the ground up, winning many awards at various car shows throughout his life. His friends will remember it as the black Ford given to him by his father which was later painted Sunburst Yellow, followed by the last of Burnt Metal Flake Orange and Sparkling Silver. The truck along with his 1967 Mustang and 1970 Mustang will all go to his grandchildren in remembrance of him. Richard always referred to himself as a 'dirt farmer' but never intended to go into the farming business. He actually hated farming, but loved the equipment used for it. Richard was an exceptional man with many talents including being able to run and operate any type of heavy equipment put in front of him. He was a skilled operator and a great 'shade tree' mechanic. Richard could fix anything. He could build, design, deconstruct, demolish, dream up and make anything better than most. His skills were called on all the time by friends and family whether they needed help inside the house, outside, or on vehicles. Richard was an accomplished welder and has constructed many of the structures on his land by himself with some being as large as a barn. Richard started his work career as a farmer along with helping his dad do his construction and demolition business. Shortly after graduation, he moved onto the oilfield. He worked in the oilfield industry as a rig hand and operator for 12 years at Equinox Oil in Delaware. He then transitioned to the gas field after a year of working for Port City Plate. He remained in the gas field for the rest of his career working at the same field under different names starting with TEC, then Quest, Energy Quest, CEP and finally Redbud. Richard enjoyed assisting at Chrisman Construction alongside his lifelong friend, Curtis Chrisman. He particularly relished operating large equipment, and Curtis graciously allowed him to indulge in this passion. Richard had a love of life. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and everything it had to offer. He was an enthusiastic boater, camper, cook, hiker, 4-wheeler, garage tinkerer, gardener, gun loving, building, yard mower and family man. He was an accomplished hunter and fisherman. His freezers were always well-stocked, and he generously shared with anyone in need. He was a firm believer of your right to carry arms and often did. He loved his guns to which he had many. Most will not know that one of his favorite pasttimes was just going out on his property to shoot pictures of the wildlife and showing them to his grandbabies and one of his closest friends, Robert 'Bo' Benfer, whom he really enjoyed hunting with and Rick Stand whom he has known as a friend forever. Richard started his married life in 1984 with the purchase of his first home for his soon to be wife, Tracy Diane (McVay) Boone. Richard and Tracy started dating while in school and were married at the First Baptist Church in Delaware on May 24, 1986. A year after their marriage, Richard decided to purchase a piece of property just 2 blocks away that had a house on it that needed a lot of attention. Richard liked a challenge and made that house into a home. Later that house was torn down and Richard put a new house onto the property that he was proud to have been able to provide for his family. Their marriage produced one of Richard's greatest accomplishments - his daughter, Brittany Alexandra Boone. He was the proud daddy that named his little girl and could never bring himself to discipline her. Richard couldn't wait to get his little girl her first 3 wheeler. She loved it and followed it up with a go kart and 4 wheeler. Richard loved to be outside playing with Brittany. It was never too soon to get her the first BB gun. At the age of 54, Richard welcomed his granddaughter, Brielle Addisyn Davis, whom he cherished with all his heart. He loved just holding her and rocking and mostly falling asleep while doing it. He then was blessed with the birth of his grandson, Bridyn Allen Davis, named after himself, Richard Allen, just 2 short years after. Richard loved rough housing his little man and reading to him or listening to the oldies on his phone. He looked forward to coming home to them each day. Richard had so many plans for his babies and he wanted so much to teach them everything he knew. Both his grandbabies share the same birthdate and he was looking forward to their special day this year. Brittany, Brielle and Bridyn were the light of his life and all his planning changed to accomodate them once they were born. Richard's goal was to get the babies established in their own home with Brittany and then travel with Tracy in the 5th wheel. He really wanted to see the Grand Canyon and take an Alaskan cruise. Richard was preceded in death by his Army Veteran dad, Wayne, and his mom, Darlene, both of Delaware. Richard is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of almost 38 years, Tracy, who resides at their home. His cherished daughter, Brittany, also at home, along with her two children, Brielle and Bridyn, also survive his passing. Richard also leaves behind his parents-in-love, Tracy's parents, Mr. John F McVay and Mrs. Janie 'Mim' McVay of Delaware. Richard left behind an uncle, Mr. George, ‘Marv' Boone and his son, Darren Boone of Nowata. Richard has an older brother, Kevin Boone, of Collinsville; a younger sister, Patricia Boone, of Chelsea and his youngest sister, Kimberly Boone, of Delaware who all mourn his passing. Richard has many cousins, nieces and nephews that were left behind along with two brothers-in-law, Randy Flower Sr. of Delaware and Aaron Tanquary of Shawnee and two sisters-in-law, Tina (McVay) Flower and Tosha (McVay) Tanquary. Richard was known as 'Boonie' to his family and friends and sadly there are too many to mention them all, but he would want to recognize some of his very dear friends: Hank Baker, Robert Benfer, Jimmy Riley, Curtis Chrisman, Edward Debo, James Hazen, Rick Stand, Mugger, Kenny Koscelny Sr. and high school classmates, Timmie Alspach and Brady Alspach. Richard knew where he was going when his time came. He often joked to Tracy that she was his ticket to Heaven, but he knew he had made his own way. Richard had a heart for God and sincerely tried to be the Best he could be. Richard is in God's Hands and waits for Tracy to come home to him. Richard will have a Celebration of His Life on January 27, 2024 at the Delaware First Baptist Church at 11:00 am. There will be a meal at the church following the Service for those who wish to join the family in Richard's remembrance.
