Misty Dawn Parsons

Misty Dawn Parsons—lovingly known as Mistymouse, Mom, Mama, Ma, and Mother—passed away on March 9, 2026, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at the age of 62. Misty was a resident of Caney, Kansas, and a woman whose heart was always centered around family and the simple joys of life. Misty was born on July 6, 1963, in Evansville, Indiana, to Hilda Pauline Gipson. She attended Southwest High School and graduated with the Class of 1981. From a young age, Misty carried a spirited personality and a deep love for those around her, qualities that stayed with her throughout her life. On February 16, 2019, Misty married Melvin Parsons, the love of her life. Together they shared many adventures, especially the times she loved riding along with Melvin on the truck. Whether traveling the roads together or enjoying quiet moments at home, their bond brought her great happiness. Misty’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was incredibly proud to be the mother of four children and found her greatest fulfillment in caring for them. Her heart grew even fuller when she became a grandmother in 2003—a role she absolutely cherished. Her grandchildren brought endless laughter, love, and meaning to her life. She loved baking sweet treats for those she loved, spending time with her children and grandchildren, fishing, and enjoying a good game of bingo. Misty also celebrated a personal milestone in 2025 when she proudly purchased her first home, a moment that meant a great deal to her and reflected her strength and determination. Faith was an important part of Misty’s life. She was a member of Tyro Christian Church. She was baptized in 2021, an experience that brought her deep peace and spiritual fulfillment. Misty was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Gipson; her aunt, Jan Villegas; and her aunt, Barb Robertson. She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly, including her devoted husband, Melvin Parsons; her children, Amber Cranor (Philip) of Tyro, Brent Schueler (Sara) of Dewey, Chad Schueler (Brenda) of Sand Springs, and Michael Grossman (Mark) of Henderson, Kentucky. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Makenzi, Cadence, Tanner, Jaxson, Harper, Ethan, Addy, Axel, Gunner, and Daygon. Misty is also survived by her twin sister, Christy Perez of Granbury, Texas; sister, Benecia Rienstra od Idaho; brother, Joey Moriarty of Connecticut; her uncles, Joe Robertson, Glen Robertson (Debbie), and Arthur Villegas; her niece, Holly of Granbury, Texas; her great-nephews, Christian and Jax; her great-niece, Leilianna; along with many cousins, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory. Misty will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met. Her greatest joy in life was simply being surrounded by the people she loved most. A Memorial Service will be held at Tyro Christian Church on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and the many memories she leaves behind.
