Linda Joyce Sisk

Linda Joyce Sisk, 72, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at The Journey Home. Linda Joyce Sisk nee Snow a.k.a Snowbird or “Lundy” was born on July 4, 1947 in Dewey, Oklahoma to parents Henry Bushyhead Snow and Orilla Shelton. Linda graduated from Dewey High School and later attended Bartlesville Business College. During this time, she met David Charles Sisk and they married February of 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Linda decided to become a homemaker when the couple had their two sons, Charles L. Sisk and David T. Sisk. Throughout her journey in life she had accomplished many things including, multiple honors from St. Labre Indian School and St. Joseph Indian school for her loving support of the children. She was a proud lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary where she held various officer positions and the Cherokee Gourd Society Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking at Cherokee powwows and stomp dances. She also enjoyed singing and dancing the jitterbug where she had won many dance competitions in. Linda also attended Bingo nights and loved watching her two favorite operas, “Young and the Restless” and “General Hospital”. She was always putting everyone else first and herself last. Most of all she was an intelligent, sacrificially heart-giving, proud, STRONG woman. Linda was the most loving mother and wife anyone could ever hope for. In February of 2017 David and Linda celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada in the same chapel and with the same officiant who married them in 1967. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, 9 brothers and 7 sisters. Linda is survived by her loving husband, David C. Sisk; two sons, Charles Sisk and David Sisk; two granddaughters, Mrs. Chance (Caitlyn) Pyle and Tiffany Rae Stroud; two great grandchildren, Samuel Ryan Schufeldt and Sakura Raine Stroud; one brother, Gary D. Snow and one sister, Marcia M (Snow) Hutchison. The family has asked that memorial contributions be sent to David Sisk at 205 Taft Lane in Dewey, Oklahoma 74029. Visitation will be Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 9:00am to 8:00pm with Graveside Service at 11:00 am Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery Pavilion.
