Linda Marie Hosey

Linda Marie (Chandler) Hosey was born on July 9, 1959 in Roswell, NM. Her father was Bill Chandler and her mother is Shelley Chandler. She was the middle of 3 children. Linda lived in Roswell until 1966 while her father worked at Mobile Oil, then the family moved to Midland, Texas and finally to Houston, Texas. As was their custom, the family deeply involved in one of the Nazarene churches. Linda graduated from Sharpstown High School in Houston, Texas in 1977 and began attending Bethany Nazarene College in Oklahoma as a business computer science major. It was there she met a ministry major named Russell Hosey. Linda and Russell were married on June 19, 1982 in Houston, Tx. In 1986, Linda and Russell moved to Tahlequah, Ok, where they not only pastored their first church, but got their first child: Jeffrey. In 1990, they moved to a new church in Sherman, Texas and their second child, Melanie was born in 1992. In 1998, the family relocated to Indiana to pastor another church. There they welcomed to the family another young Brazilian whom they sponsored to come to the US and attend college, Alan Santos. Linda and Russell also pastored churches in Vienna, WV, Bartlesville, OK, and are currently at the Caney Nazarene Church in Caney, KS. Linda has worked in education administration for years, currently serving as lead Administrative Assistant at Oklahoma Connections Academy. Linda was an avid "crafts" person, but the love of her life was her family and especially grandchildren: Sadie and Levi. Linda passed away unexpectedly on September 3 at the age of 63. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Russell Hosey. Her children: Jeffrey and his wife Joleen Hosey from St. Charles County, Mo, her daughter Melanie Hosey from Tulsa. Her Brazilian kid, Alan Santos and his wife Bianca and family of Campinas, Brazil. Her grandchildren Sadie Rae and Levi Allen Hosey. Her mother, Shelley Chandler, her sister Cheryl Foxworthy and her husband Warren of Batesville, Arkansas and her brother, Mark Chandler and his wife Annette of Lexington, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Chandler. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday September 7, 2022 at 7pm at the Caney Nazarene Church in Caney, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Caney Nazarene Benevolence Fund via the Caney Nazarene Church 1571 CR 1250, Caney KS 67333 or Venmo with @caneynazbenevolence or Tithe.ly with Caney Church of the Nazarene.
