Lewis Dee Duncan

Lewis Dee Duncan was born on January 13, 1943 to Pauline Duncan (Johnson) and Dee Dwight Duncan of Dewey, Oklahoma. Lewis was known for his dry sense of humor, quick wit, and practical jokes. He passed peacefully at The Journey Home on June 1, 2026. Lewis worked alongside his father as his apprentice at his father’s electrical business as a boy and throughout his high school years. He graduated from Dewey High School in 1962, with a passion for raising and showing pigs in FFA, fishing and hunting with his Uncle Johnny, and playing first chair tuba in the marching band. As an adult, Duncan lived a life of service. Service to his family, his faith, and his country. After attending Oklahoma State University School of Technical Training in Okmulgee, Duncan proudly entered the United States Army in 1963. He was stationed in South Korea in the demilitarized zone and the Dominican Republic, but his most fond memories were formed in Amchitka, Alaska. He greatly enjoyed repair and maintenance on teletype machinery, earning top security clearance serving as a Specialist in the U.S Army Signal Corps. Traveling and serving his country was an important part of his life. After his service, Duncan was hired at Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville on the maintenance crew in the power plant. He eventually changed departments within the company to work in the furniture and fixtures department in office planning, often traveling to open new offices in communities across the region. Duncan ended his 33 year career at Phillips 66 as a manager in the corporate records department, overseeing the maintenance, cataloging and storage of corporate documents. Lewis was active in various churches throughout the years, volunteering as worship music leader and choir director. He was a devout Christian, which is how he met his beloved wife of 28 years, Janet Duncan. The two had been inseparable since they met. Lewis Duncan is survived by his wife, Janet Duncan of Bartlesville, OK; his two daughters Pamela Mowry (Michael Mowry) of Edmond, OK and Lisa Duncan of Oklahoma City; his granddaughter Emma McEuin; his brother Ken Duncan of Bartlesville, OK; his sister Connie Mason (Clyde Mason) of Miami, OK; Duncan is also survived by his step children Dianna Johnson, Vicki Burden (Carl Burden), Ronald Gilley, Randell Gilley, Shelia Reeves (granddaughter Sierra Reeves), and Matthew Gilley.
