Corbin L Newman

Corbin L. Newman, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and pillar of his community, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, at the age of 94 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Born in Miami, Oklahoma, on July 28, 1930, to Corbin Stewart Newman and Leona Mildred Newman (Albro), Corbin lived a full and meaningful life, marked by his deep faith, strong work ethic, and a tireless dedication to family and community. Corbin's career as a supervisor at Southwestern Bell spanned many years, during which he earned the respect of his colleagues and made lasting contributions to his field. However, his true sense of accomplishment came from his commitment to serving others. Corbin was a longtime member and volunteer of the Southern Baptist Church, where he dedicated much of his time to building churches and supporting disaster relief efforts. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he took great joy in helping others and spreading kindness wherever he went. An avid traveler, Corbin found fulfillment in experiencing the world and its many cultures, but his heart always remained close to home. He was deeply passionate about farming and raising cattle, and he took great pride in caring for the land and animals that had been part of his family for generations. Above all, Corbin cherished the time spent with his loved ones, who were the true joy of his life. Corbin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Newman, with whom he shared a loving marriage for over 55 years; his sisters, Patricia Ann Vanderham, Sondra Howard, and Leila Fern Rakes; his brother, Walter C. Newman; and his grandchildren, Orian Evans and Jeremy Newman. He is survived by his daughters, LeAnne Anderegg, Kathy and Russell Cox; his sons, Corbin and Erin Newman Jr., Mike and Cindy Newman; his sister, Peggy Miller; his brother, Richard Newman; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will continue to inspire his family and all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief in Corbin’s honor, a cause that was dear to his heart. Corbin’s life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and community. His kindness, wisdom, and generosity will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and all who continue to serve in his memory.
