Viola Juanita Duty

August 13, 1920 - August 19, 2012

Funeral services for Viola Juanita Duty, 92, of Sperry, Oklahoma will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Lakeview Southern Baptist Church with Reverend Dale Nielsen officiating. Interment in Resthaven Cemetery Sperry, Oklahoma is under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Casket bearers for the service are Brett Maupins, Jason Duty, Michael Casillas, Dakota Duty, James Burch and Brad Hight. Honorary casket bearers are Cory Stevens and Travis Duty. Musical Selections for the service are "Amazing Grace" "I'll Fly Away" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Viola passed away on August 19, 2012, in Tulsa, OK. She was born on August 13, 1920 in Akins, Oklahoma to George and Katie (McCuen) Emberton. She married Dewey Edmond Duty Sr. on October 15, 1940; he preceded her in death on May 31, 2001. Viola was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had made her home in Sperry for 52 years. Viola is survived by her five children: Ruby J. Hunt and husband Jerry, Edmond "Bud" Duty Jr. and wife Judith, Larry E. Duty and wife Mia all of Skiatook; Brenda Kay Rohde and husband Robert of Tulsa; Donna Casillas and husband Chris of Skiatook; 11 grandchildren: Kimberly Burton, Brett Maupins, Christie Hight, Jason Lee Duty, Travis E. Duty, Ticka Holland, T.J. Oldaker, Cory Stevens, Amber Stevens, Michael Casillas, Jamie Burch, 25 great grandchildren, a brother Eugene Emberton of Muldrow, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dewey, infant daughter Eddis Ann, a grandson Scott Duty, granddaughter Angela Dawn and four brothers. www.Peters-Stumpff.com
