Mrs. Morrison spent her life as a homemaker and mother; then later she took great joy in being a grandmother and finally a great-grandmother. "Mimi" is remembered by her children and grandchildren as a person who loved them unconditionally, was always there for them and continually encouraged them to reach their highest potential in whatever goals they pursued. Marie attended college at Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. In 1942 in Oakland, California, she married her high school sweetheart Charles Russell Morrison. They were married for nearly 61 years. Although Mimi spent most of her time and energy in the home and on the farm with her husband, she also used her creative skills to help others. She was a Campfire Girl leader in Sapulpa for the Sapulpa High School class of 1969. She led this group from second grade until middle school. She was also remembered for her innovative birthday parties at their home. Several times the Sapulpa Herald came out to take pictures as the children celebrated a Peter Pan party, a circus party and many other creative events. She also worked at the Summer Day Camp Okiwanee She worked as a seamstress designing and making costumes for the Tulsa Junior Dance Ballet during the 1960's and 1970's. Mrs. Morrison accepted Christ into her life as a teenager. She was baptized at Ardmore First United Methodist Church at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Morrison; an infant daughter Linda and her parents Cleo and Vertie Beard. Marie is survived by her two daughters and their husbands: Cheryl and Dan Patman of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Debbie and Clyde Rupert of Plano, Texas. Her five grandchildren Rachel Patman and spouse Don Petty of Saltville, Virginia; Rebecca and her spouse Nathan Fountain of Edmond, Oklahoma. Matthew and his wife Laurie Patman of League City, Texas; Ryan Rupert of Anchorage, Alaska and Hillary Rupert of Auburn, Alabama. Six great-grandchildren: Hunter and Dalton Fountain; Dylan and Gavin Patman and Anna and Micah Patman Petty. Paul Bearers will be Matthew Patman, Ryan Rupert; Clark Kinzler, Clayton Kinzler. Nathan Fountain and Don Petty. Hunter Patman Fountain will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Mimi was an important part of our lives for many years and she will be missed. She has left us a legacy that will never depart. www.Peters-Stumpff.com
