Thelma LaVerne Dunlap

November 19, 1935 - March 18, 2022

Thelma LaVerne Dunlap (French), 86, completed her earthly journey March 18, 2022, at 4pm. She passed peacefully into The Kingdom of Heaven. Thelma was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and servant of Jesus. She was born to Sherman and Essie French on November 19, 1935, in McAlester, OK. Thelma spent her formative years in Wilburton, OK. She married Bill Dunlap on December 18, 1954. They had 2 children, Suzan and Steve. Thelma completed her degree in education and together they taught in several cities before making Bartlesville their home in 1969. She loved her students, teaching language, and her years at Ranch Heights Elementary School. Thelma’s greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved reading and sports and time with her family and friends. She loved all things pretty, shoes, purses, and clothes. She loved serving and could often be found in the church nursery, teaching Sunday school, or serving in some capacity. She loved to read and study scripture and was an incredible prayer warrior. She was loved by her friends and adored by her family. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Friday, March 25, from 9am until 5pm. Formal visitation will be held Friday, March 25, from 5pm until 7pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26, at 10:30am at Bartlesville First Baptist Church and is under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.
