Graveside services for Thelma D. Claxton, 84, of Tulsa were held Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. at Osage Garden Cemetery with Jim Lundy officiating. Musical selection was Peace In The Valley . Arrangements and interment were under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Thelma passed away January 10, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born August 30, 1924 in Marshall County, West Virginia to Patrick and Bertha (McCollough) Dulaney. She married Bim Claxton October 4, 1945 in Fresno, California He preceded her in death May 22, 2001. She was a long time resident of Tulsa and member of Home Garden Church of Christ in Tulsa. She enjoyed bowling and bingo. Thelma is survived by 1 son: Charles and wife Carol of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren: Leann Phillips of Owasso, Corey Claxton and wife Marina of Huto, Texas, Carrie Claxton of Sand Springs and Terry Billingsley and wife Lisa of Tulsa; 9 great grandchildren: Cody, Colton, Hunter, Luke, Makenzie, Caleigh, Caitlyn, Mia and Valerie; 2 sisters: Agnes Smith of Akron, Ohio, Barbara Stevens of Mounds, Oklahoma, 1 half-sister: Diana Dulaney of Canton, Ohio. In addition to her husband, Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter: Sandra Billingsley,1 grandson Randy Claxton, 6 siblings: Cecil, Edna, Edmond, Thomas, James and William.
