July 2, 1935 - May 25, 2022

The Life, Love & Legacy of Shirley Lee (Scott) Martinsez Shirley Lee Martinsez was born to Thomas Scott, Sr. & Ethel Corrine (Lynch) Scott, on July 2, 1935, in Coffeyville, KS. Shirley accepted Christ at an early age and was an advocate member of St. John Baptist Church, Coffeyville, KS where she sing in the church choir and surrounding communities with her siblings. Shirley graduated from Field Kinley High School in 1953 and attended Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, KS. At the age of 20 years old Shirley left Coffeyville, KS to join her siblings in Chicago, IL where she later met and married William (Bill) Martin, Sr. (deceased) and had two beautiful children: William Martin, Jr., Tulsa, OK and Angela (Martin) Hoskins, Tulsa, OK. Shirley begins her career as an Executive Secretary at Soldiers Field in Chicago, IL. After over 15 plus years in Chicago Shirley returned to her hometown of Coffeyville, KS later moving and accepting a job at Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, OK, where she worked as an Executive Secretary, and while in Bartlesville did marry Roger Martinsez of Memphis Tennessee (deceased). Shirley loved her family, friends, community, and Pastor Rev. Owen (Vicki) Howell who she served as a member at Starlight Baptist Church, Bartlesville, OK. She loved to tell you about your history and hers. Shirley was always meeting NEW people and enjoyed telling you about what she called “the good book” (the Bible). She often mentioned “I have to keep the prayer wheels turning” to let someone know no matter what she is always praying about everything. She often referred to her nieces, nephews, and children as her “puddin head” or “phatt head” and wanting “Suger (a kiss)” from the little ones. Shirley leave in her loving memory her two children: William (Margaret) Martin, Jr., and Angela (Isiah-deceased) Hoskins, Tulsa, OK Four Grandchildren: Tyshana Martin of Atlanta, GA; Tystrel Martin of Atlanta, GA; Jamal Martin of Tulsa, OK; and Atallah Martin of Tulsa, OK. Four Great Grandchildren: Khalid Martin, Atlanta, GA; Kora’n Martin, Atlanta, GA; Jannah Griffin, Atlanta, GA; Edena Griffin, Atlanta, GA; and Alima Sharee Anthony, Tulsa, OK and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Shirley departed this earthly life and received her heavenly wings on Thursday, May 25, 2022. Shirley was preceded in death by her PARENTS: Thomas Scott, Sr. and Corrine (Lynch)Scott; her HUSBAND William (Bill) Martin, Sr., and her HUSBAND Roger Martinsez; her SIBLINGS: Thomas Scott, Jr., Lonnie Zeno Scott, William (Bill) Scott, Cornell Scott, Edna Mae Scott, Melvin Scott, Geneva (Scott) Streeter, and two juvenile siblings. Shirley loved the Lord and trusted him all her days. Amen.
