Ruth Lucille Tharp

April 6, 1923 - February 26, 2019

Funeral services for Ruth Lucille Tharp, 95, of Skiatook, OK will be held Friday March 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Skiatook Church of Christ with Russell Hill officiating.             Interment in Osage Garden Cemetery in Skiatook, Oklahoma is under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home.  Casket bearers for the service are Terry Tharp, Steve Tharp, Zayne Tharp, Charlie Johnston, David Pounds and Paul Lancaster. Honorary casket bearers are Stan Tharp, Farrell Maier and Larry Garrison. Ruth passed away on February 26, 2019 in Skiatook, Oklahoma.  She was born on April 6, 1923, in Fox, Arkansas to Oscar and Mary (Lowrance) Lancaster.  Ruth attended White Rock High School in Oklahoma.  She worked as a cashier for Sears and was a clerk at Harps Drugs Store. She was a homemaker.  Ruth was also a Christian, attending Churches of Christ.  Ruth loved playing board games, especially Scrabble and Rummy Kub.             Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Mary Lancaster, her sister Margaret Maier, first husband Homer Jean Tharp and second husband Oscar Gonzales, granddaughter Annette Steeber and son Bill Burkland.             She is survived by her children: Tony Wayne Tharp and wife Pat, Stanford Allan Tharp and wife Glenda, Janice Kay Garrison and husband Larry, Jim Tharp and wife Teresa, brothers Ray Lancaster and wife Cora, Herman Lancaster and wife Delois and Norvell Lancaster and wife Karla.             Surviving grandchildren are Jim Tharp, Tim Tharp, Terry Tharp, Steven Tharp, Michele Tharp, Kimberly Steeber, Amy Johnston and Katharine Cummings.             She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
