Ronald Eugene Dodd

August 21, 1943 - August 30, 2011

Ronald Eugene Dodd, 68 long-time resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa. He was born August 21, 1943 in Tulsa to Gerald Eugene and Betty Maxine (Peterson) Dodd. He was a graduate of McClain High School. On February 9, 1962 Ronald married Sharon Paddlety in Sapulpa. Ronald was a member of the Freedom Hill Baptist Church in Mannford, the I.I.C.O.T. (Intertribal Indian Club of Tulsa), and was a machinist. His family remembers how he enjoyed life, especially the simple things in life; he loved his family, the Lord, and his chickens. Ronald is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon, 2 daughters, Shari Harris of Claremore, and Maya Torralba of Anadarko, Oklahoma. 2 grandchildren Tiffany Brandon Harris, and Robert Walker Dodd Harris. 1 great granddaughter, Jasmin Zamora. 5 siblings, Donna J. Lane of Bristow, JoDee Marlow of Texas, Teri Burke of Mannford, Diana Smith of Norman, and John Dodd of Tulsa, and several nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Robert Allen Dodd. Funeral services for Ronald were Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel in Skiatook. Pastor John Syverson officiated the service. Casket bearers were Walker Harris, John Dodd, Dustin Dodd, Brian Daffron, Damon Harris, Scott Maxville, Bobby Hudson and Lance Hiltbrand. Honorary casket bearer was Gano R. Starr. There were Kiowa hymns played, and several other special songs played during his funeral. The family buried Ronald on private family land in Turley. The family entrusted Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home with his arrangements. Peters-Stumpff.com
