Paula Morriss

May 5, 1951 - September 9, 2021

Paula Ray Morriss, 70 years of age, passed away on September 9th, 2021, at Nowata hospital due to covid 19. Paula was born May 5th, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Mary and Howard Lee. She was raised in Oklahoma City and was the only daughter of four children. Paula attended a community college in Arizona for accounting. Her long-term occupation was in the nursing field. She had four children, two boys David and Craig Perry, and two girls Tonya Perry and Christy Collins. Her last six years here she adopted a little boy named Joshua Carriker. She loved and took care of him as her own up until the day she passed. Paula enjoyed playing the card game Hand and Foot, fishing, gardening, dancing to Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline, and spending time with loved ones. She absolutely adored Elvis Presley. She had a big collection of Elvis Presley items and pig décor. Cooking delicious foods and watching cooking shows was two of her all-time favorite hobbies. No one could cook better than granny! Paula was the most loving, caring and helpful person anyone could ever meet. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members. She was the glue that held her family together. She gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Paula Ray Morriss was one beautiful, outstanding, hard-working woman. Paula Morriss is preceded in death by her father Howard Ray Lee Sr., her mother Mary E. Blair, three brothers Howard Ray Lee Jr., Gary Hinkle, Dennis Hinkle, son David Perry, daughter Tonya Renee Perry, and her great granddaughter Stormy Gloria Jean Morgan. She is survived by her son Craig Wayne Perry, daughter Christy LaDawn Ainesworth, stepdaughter Jennifer Lay, significant other Doug Cole, her twelve grandchildren Jessica Morgan, Dana Morgan, Savannah Perry, Cheyenne Morgan, Trevor Perry, Chad Collins, Kayla Brady, Tonya Brady, Shylar Kennedy, McKenzie Lay, Autumn Lay, Nevaeh Rogers, 20 great grandchildren, and adopted son Joshua Carriker. Services will be held at the Stumpff-Bartlesville Chapel at 11 am on Friday, September 17, 2021.
