March 1, 1938 - March 4, 2021
Mona Lorraine (Waller) Dobbs, 83, died March 4, 2021 in Southlake, Texas. She was born March 1, 1938 in Bartlesville, OK to parents George Waller and Mary (Hansard) Waller. Mona Dobbs was a beautiful person, inside and out. She was a very kind, caring, and devoted person, making her family the number one priority in her life. After graduating from Bartlesville College High School in 1955, she attended the Sparks Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Smith, AR. Before making a career as a home health aide, she was hired by Braniff Airlines as a flight attendant, later declining to marry Sylvester "Bud" Dobbs, whom she was married to for 63 years. One of her favorite private duty clients, whom she talked about until her death, was Mrs. Kane. After working at Central Airlines as a Flight Assistant/Travel Booking Agent and spending many years as a nursing aide, working home private duty and at Jane Phillips Hospital, she became a full-time mother and house wife. She also loved welcoming new people to town via her Bartlesville Newcomers job. She was the true definition of a care giver and a second mom to many of her children's friends. She never missed any of her children’s sporting events and was their biggest supporter. She brightened the world with her beautiful smile and laugh and her artistic creations. She was an avid painter, mastering many styles, with her favorites being porcelain and oil. She always prided herself on creating free form drawings for her paintings. Her creative nature also shined through with her vibrant sense of fashion and style, always presenting herself polished and trendy. She cherished attending her Porcelain Painting and Red Hat clubs and spending time in nature, inheriting her love of flowers from her father. Her beloved Pomeranians, Jerry, Scarlett, Dallas, and Chase, brought so much joy to her life. Mona also enjoyed playing golf with Bud and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Dobbs, son Kenneth "Kenny" Dobbs, father George Waller, mother Mary Waller, sister Lois Glasser, and brother George Dee Waller. She is survived by son Bradley Dobbs and girlfriend April Perryman, daughter April Dobbs-Petersen and husband Jeff Petersen, daughter-in-law Cheryl Stow Dobbs, sister-in-law Berdenia Waller, grandchildren Emily Dobbs, Kayla Dobbs Zapata and husband Oscar Zapata, Jamie Dobbs Diehl and husband Holden Diehl, Jakey Dobbs, Megan Dobbs, Seth Petersen, Trevor Petersen, great-grandchildren Cadence Diehl, River Diehl, Tobias “Toby” Zapata, and multiple nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2pm Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel. There will be an Interment to follow at the Dewey Cemetery.
