Minnie Irene Sturdy

September 13, 1929 - September 12, 2020

Funeral services for Minnie Irene Sturdy, 90, of Skiatook, Oklahoma will be held Thursday September 17, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home in Skiatook, OK with Reverend Herman Wood officiating. Interment in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma is under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home.  Casket bearers for the service are John Hill, David Hill, Geno Hasting, Gene Hasting, Glen Mattison II and Matthew Mattison. Minnie passed away on September 12, 2020 at her residence.  She was born September 13, 1929 in Turley, Oklahoma to Acel Henry and Bessie Jewel (Hayman) Taft.  Minnie received her education in Kenwood, Oklahoma near Salina and Catoosa.   She moved to Tulsa in 1946 were she worked for Dan Burton Laundry and later Medco Products.  Minnie married John Sturdy in 1964. She moved to Skiatook in 1971 and retired from Medco in the early 80's.  Minnie enjoyed going to garage sales, reading, sewing and spending time with family. Minnie is survived by her sons: James M. Mattison and wife Charlotte, Glen E. Mattison and wife Linda all of Skiatook; a sister Mary Taft of Florida; 4 grandchildren and 18 great  and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Jim Mattison, second husband John Sturdy, six brothers: Bill Taft, Acel Henry Taft Jr., Sherman Taft, James Robert (Bud) Taft, Riley (Butch) Taft and Clarence Taft, four sisters: Jewel, Marie, Lola and Lillie.
