Max Stanton Branson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Max Branson was born July 6, 1934, in Pryor, Oklahoma to Era Rogers Branson and Branley Allen Branson and passed from this life on July 20, 2022, at the age of 88. Max was born and raised in Pryor, Oklahoma. He graduated from Miami high school. He then attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, Miami, Oklahoma, and received his degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tulsa. His career started at DOW chemical in Freeport, Texas for several years. Max's career spanned several states within the U.S., overseas in Saudi Arabia, and eventually retiring from Phillips Petroleum. Max enjoyed fishing with family, hanging out with his loved ones, going to church, and watching his children and grandkids play sports. Max was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Branley Allen Jr.; sister, Nancy Jenkins. He is survived by his brother Kenneth Branson; his high school sweetheart and wife, Betty Branson; son and spouse, Stan and Rhonda Branson; daughter and spouse, Melissa and Jeff Furnas; his six grandchildren, Stacy Garrett, Kyle Branson, Zack, Emma, and Noah Loyd, and Rowan Furnas; his six great grandchildren; and his six great great grandchildren. Max will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Oklahoma.
