Marilyn Ruth Weston-Ramey
March 4, 1933 - June 14, 2022
Marilyn Ruth Weston Ramey was born at home on Choctaw in Dewey, the ninth of eleven children, on March 4, 1933, Enoch and Oma Weston. She attended Dewey Public Schools and was a member of the First Christian Church all her life. Over the years, Marilyn worked at various jobs, the first being at Popkess Drug, where she met Jay, and the longest being at Cities Service Oil and Gas for 11 years. Marilyn married Joseph C. Ramey the first day of spring in 1952. They just celebrated their 70th anniversary this year. Her favorite activities were baking, quilting, any kind of craftwork, and collecting unusual teapots. She baked and decorated wedding and other cakes professionally, as well as for family and friends. One special cake was when she provided the cake for Governor David Boren’s inauguration. Another pastime that she spent countless hours on was the genealogy of both the Weston and Ramey families. She was a very proud member of the DAR, Home Demonstration Club, Red Hat Society, and Creative Crafters. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Jay, daughters Becky Gardner and her husband Steve of Tulsa, and Cindy Johnson and her husband Gary of Bixby, son Joe Ramey and his wife Jane of Dewey, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one sister Wilma Workman of Dewey.
