Funeral services for Linda Sue Harper, 63, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, were held Monday, February 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Osage Oaks Church of God in Sperry, Oklahoma with Pastor Doyle Ginn officiating. Interment in Osage Garden Cemetery was under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Casket bearers for the service were Trey Harper, Tony Harper, Josh Turner, Dusty Turner, Shakota Nichols, David Harper, Chris Harper and, Jerry Harper Jr. Musical selections for the service were Beulah Land , Amazing Grace and The Old Rugged Cross . Linda passed away on February 19, 2009, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on November 25, 1945 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John and Myrtle (Axhelm) Gaines. Linda married Jerry Harper Sr. on April 11, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She worked as a foster parent for forty years; during that time she cared for 529 children, and raised six children of her own. She had lived in the Sperry and Skiatook area since 1982. She was a member of the Osage Oaks Church of God in Sperry. Linda is survived by her husband Jerry of the home, three sons: Jerry Harper Jr. and wife Patty of Skiatook; Chris Harper and wife April of Wewoka; David Harper and wife Adriann of Camp Pendleton, CA; three daughters: Kimberly Harper, Shannon Nichols and husband Steve, McKenzie Harper all of Skiatook; 11 grandchildren: Shakota Nichols, Makayla Williams, Dusty Turner, Josh Turner, Tony Harper, Trey Harper, Johnna Harper, Jonathan Harper, DeAnn Harper, Brooklyn Harper, and D.J. Harper, four great grandchildren: Wyatt Turner, Kodi Lynn Harper, Nate Harper, Kadence Harper, three sisters: Charlotte Hyle of Tulsa; Barbara Battles of Sapulpa; Sharon Fox of Dallas, TX; and one brother Jim Tolson of Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Patrick Harper, two brothers: Johnny Gains and Jerry Gaines.
