Leslie "Les" Lee "Junie" Bird

April 2, 1937 - November 29, 2014

Leslie "Les" Lee "Junie" Bird, 77 of Barnsdall, passed away November 29, 2014. He was born April 2, 1937 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Francis Allen (Buddy) and Ethel Elliott (Johnston) Bird. Les was a self-employed fabricator for 18 years, he owned and operated MAD LTD. He married Melanie Lierly on October 16, 1992 in Sugarland, Texas. They moved to southeast Oklahoma in 1997, then to the Skiatook area in 2006 and have been in Barnsdall the past 2 years. He was a member of the Skiatook Christian Church. Les is survived by his wife Melanie, three sons, Tim Bird and his wife Amy of Santo, Texas, Ray-Don Daniels and his wife Misty of Dewey, Oklahoma, and Bryan Daniels and his wife Amanda of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Two daughters, Cindy and Carol of Texas. A sister Aletha Creech and her husband Gene of Woodson, Texas, two brothers Rex Bird and his wife Helen of Santa Barbara, California, and Mark Bird and his wife Debbie of Possom Kingdom, Texas, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Les was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Skiatook Christian Church with pastor Trey Harper officiating. Musical selection was "Tears in Heaven" sung by Lorra Lierly. Casket bearers were Lynn Lierly, Gerald Harris, Gene Creech, Mariano Vargas, Jim Johnston, Shane Ragan, Mark Bird and Brad Ward. Honorary Casket bearers were Rafael Galvan, Bill Henry and Lee West. Burial will be at the Osage Garden Cemetery in Skiatook, Oklahoma under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home, Skiatook, Oklahoma. Family and friends may view the obituary and sign the guest register at peters-stumpff.com
