Mr. Kenny Ray Parker, 79, of Dewey, died at 3:45 P.M. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. Funeral services for Mr. Parker will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, January 25, 2021 in the Dewey United Methodist Church with Pastor Jinx Barber and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Chaplain Sam Garner officiating. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Honor Guard will conduct final honors at the Dewey Cemetery. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. The Parker family will receive guests at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Sunday, January 24th from 2 PM until 4 PM. Kenny Ray Parker was born at Brinkman, Oklahoma on October 22, 1941 the son of Fred Fosque Parker and Josie Mae (Wilemon) Parker. He attended schools at Mangum, Oklahoma where he graduated high school in 1959. He then attended Sayre Junior College and Southwestern State at Weatherford and he played semi pro baseball with the Pampa Colts of Pampa, Texas. He was married to Patricia Ann Hahn at the Presbyterian Church in Beaver, Oklahoma on November 10, 1962. He served as the undersheriff of Greer County, Oklahoma from 1963 to 1964 and then joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in 1965. He was assigned to Washington County and spent his entire highway patrol career in Washington County until his retirement in 1996. He loved all kinds of sports especially golf and OU football. He also enjoyed his family life with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Pat” Parker of the home, one daughter Kim McClure and husband Bill of Bartlesville, his son, Jeff Parker and wife Vickie of Eufaula, Okla, two brothers, Fred Fosque Parker of Alvord, Texas and Dewey Parker and wife Margaret of Edmond, Okla, seven grandchildren, Justin Sturgeon and wife Amanda, Parker Sturgeon and wife Laura, Kyndal McClure, Derek Parker, Levi Parker, Ashley McGuire and husband Rickey and Bailey Kennemer, and seven great grandchildren, Will Maib, Ryan McGuire, Jovie Sturgeon, Parker Dewayne Sturgeon, Tierra Stamm, Dylan Poor, and Ryan Poor, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Bernard Parker, Ruth Fox, Bill Parker, Ted Parker, Tex Parker, and Jerry Parker. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
