July 13, 1924 - October 5, 2011

Memorial services for June Caprice Owens, 87 of Skiatook, Oklahoma will be held, Wednesday October 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Osage Garden Cemetery Veterans Memorial in Skiatook, OK with Rev. Dale Nielsen officiating. Inurnment will be under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Honorary casket bearers are Cleo Harlow, Mike Curtis, Virgil Mayabb, John Reynolds, Earl Park Jr. and Bob Ryan. June passed away on October 5, 2011 in Vinita, Oklahoma. She was born July 13, 1924 in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Walter C. and Clara E. (Rogers) Hubbard. She was a 1941 graduate of Skiatook High School. June moved to California in 1951 where she married Ben Wilson and lived there many years working as a legal secretary and raising her family. She moved back to Skiatook in 1971 where she was reunited with her classmate Ben Owens "Toe Head". They later traveled to Las Vegas, where they married on May 21, 1975. Together they traveled and enjoyed spending time at the track from coast to coast. June presided over the Skiatook Museum for over 15 years and was the driving force behind getting it where it is today. She was a member of the Historical Society where she was president for 13 years, American Legion Auxiliary being president for 2 years, the School Alumni Reunion where she was president for 8 years. June also was on the Osage Garden Cemetery Board. She is survived by her son Walter Wilson of California; a daughter Clara Wilson and son-in-law Jay Giehl of Ojai, CA; a granddaughter Nicole June Kott, two grandsons: Michael Hubbard and John Hubbard and families all of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and two sons: Chuck Wilson and Randy Hubbard.
