Joyce Elaine Moursund

December 25, 1935 - January 9, 2016

Funeral services for Joyce Elaine Moursund, 80 of Skiatook, were held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Skiatook, with Reverend Susan Whitley officiating.             Interment in Osage Garden Cemetery in Skiatook, Oklahoma was under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home.  Casket bearers for the service were Aaron Wooden, Blake Roberson, Skylar Hightower, Jarett Taff, Greg Wentworth and Stephan Hewitt.  Musical selections for the service were "The Old Rugged Cross", "The Wind Beneath My Wings" sung by Robin Edens, and "Amazing Grace" a congregational hymn.             Joyce passed away on January 9, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She was born on December 25, 1935 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Harold Clifford and Christine Marie (Vendelboe) Westbrook.   She earned an Associates degree from Kansas City, Kansas Community College. Joyce married Dale Howard Imler in 1955 and to this union was born three daughters; Jennifer, Shelley and Stacey.  She later married Waddell Moursund in 1994. Joyce worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas as an executive administrator where she was active with the ONGOERS with ONG. She also worked in the banking industry as an administrator for several years.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 38 of Kansas City, Kansas. Joyce has lived in Skiatook, for two and a half years where she attended the First United Methodist Church.             Joyce is survived by her two daughters: Shelley Wentworth and husband Greg of Skiatook; Stacey Hightower of Tulsa;  four grandchildren, one great grandson, a sister Carolyn Hewitt of McKinney, TX; two step children: Kay Ewbank and Kinn Moursund, three step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren, and a host of friends and family.             She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Dale Imler and Waddell Moursund, daughter Jennifer Denise Imler who passed away at the age of four and a half, a step daughter Rikke House, two sisters: Hazel Sorrell, Harriet Smith.     In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Leukemia Society or the Skiatook First United Methodist Church Mission Fund.
