Joella Frances Petersen

Graveside services for Joella Frances Petersen, 83, of Tulsa, Oklahoma will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs, Oklahoma with Jeff Bishop officiating. Interment was under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Musical selections for the service are "When I Get Where I'm Going" and "Amazing Grace". Joella passed away on April 1, 2012 in Skiatook, Oklahoma. She was born January 18, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Kaleb Albert and Fern DeLores (Hale) Garris. Joella worked as an assembly line worker for Lowrance Electronics; she also worked for the Tulsa Public Schools. Joella married J.W. Petersen in 1947, he preceded her in death in 1964. After his death she met Clifford White whom she spent many years with until his death. Joella enjoyed spending time outside camping, fishing, and gardening. She liked cooking and spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children: Linda Graves and husband Richard of Tulsa; Shirley Benedict and husband Acie of Sperry; Carolyn Hale and husband Gerald, Janice Petersen, Wayne Petersen all of Tulsa; step children: Lee Petersen and wife Bernadine of Texas; Robert Petersen and wife Sharon of Tulsa; Sam White and wife Vickie of Skiatook; Charlotte Hall and husband Mike of Sperry; Tammy Fleming and husband Dave of Skiatook; three siblings: Leroy Garris of Las Vegas, NV; Wayne Garris and wife Margie and Wila Mae Petsche all of Tulsa; 21 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father Buster Edwards, love of her life Clifford White, a daughter Barbara Jo, two grandsons: Jerry Williams, and Christopher Bishop, a granddaughter Treva Edwards and a sister in law Ilene Garris. www.Peters-Stumpff.com
