Gary Owen Roberts

August 9, 1953 - March 8, 2018

Funeral services for Gary Owen Roberts, 64, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be held Monday March 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Sperry, OK with Brother Curtis Mitchell officiating.             Interment in Resthaven Cemetery in Sperry, Oklahoma is under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home.  Casket bearers for the service are Spencer Hutchins, Matt Willson, Kyle Hutchins, Joe Roberts, Hawkel Clemens and Sean Blatchford.  Honorary casket bearers are Matt Roberts, Brian Roberts, Matthew Winters and Mike Winters.  Musical selections for the service are "I'll Fly Away" and "Amazing Grace".   Gary passed away on March 8, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He was born August 9, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Noah and Margaret (Atterberry) Roberts. Gary was the Police Chief in Sperry Oklahoma from 1980 to the early 1990's.  He married Rhonda Currin on September 12, 2009 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.  Gary lived in Muldrow, Oklahoma for the last five years where he was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.   He is survived by his wife Rhonda of the home, a sister Maymie Cason, two daughters: Adriane Hutchins and husband Spencer of Enid; Phaedra Willson and husband Matt of Oologah; two stepsons: Matthew Winters and wife Samantha, Mike Winters all of Nevada; three sons: Joe Roberts of Tulsa; Matt Roberts of Sperry and Brian Roberts, 18 grandchildren: Kyle, Hawk, Hayden, Xandria, Sean, Chaseton, Ember, Breanna, Aria, Jordan, Kali, Ashton, Carmen, Ryan, Morgan, Jordan, Connor and Elizabeth, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephew.   He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Billy Joe, three sisters: May, Margie and Linda and first wife Karen.
