Funeral services for Elmer F. Reif, 88, of Skiatook, Oklahoma will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel in Skiatook, OK, with Pastor Bill Bowman officiating. Interment in Osage Garden Cemetery in Skiatook, Oklahoma is under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Casket bearers for the service will be the Tulsa Fire Department Honor Guard. Honorary casket bearers are Kirk Lewis, Gene Simpson, Billy Joe Reeves, Charlie Mitchell, Cleo Harlow and Johnny Bowers. Musical selection was Ave Maria . Elmer passed away on December 10, 2010 at Grace Living Center in Jenks, OK. He was born September 9, 1922 in Beggs, Oklahoma to George and Eva (Rouk) Reif. He joined the United States Marine Corps in July of 1942 serving his country for four years. During that time he participated in the Okinawa Operation. Elmer married Theresa Francis Cacciatore on December 8, 1944. She preceded him in death on May 26, 1993. Elmer worked as a firefighter for the Tulsa Fire Department until retiring. He is survived by his devoted companion and friend Barbara Shaw of Skiatook; a son John Reif of Skiatook; a daughter Susie Totz and husband Herb of Tulsa; a grandson Mike Totz and wife Pattie of Maple Grove, MN; and two great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Tess, and a brother William R. Reif.
