Funeral services for Dr. Ken Taylor, 61, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, were held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Skiatook, Oklahoma with Pastors Kelly Chronister and Bill Zodrow officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Musicians for the service were Ken Taylor II, Darla and Matt Neighbors. Ken passed away on September 14, 2009 at his residence due to heart failure. He was born on March 8, 1948, in Enid, Oklahoma to J.C. and Nettie Lou (Stoner) Taylor. Ken was a Plainsman graduate in 1966, received his bachelors at Northwestern, and his Doctored at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He served the Enid community as an optometrist and an active member of several local community organizations. Upon his retirement, Dr. Taylor moved to Skiatook and fulfilled his visions of development in partnership with his sister, State Farm Agent Beverly Taylor. The primary goal of making something Skiatook would be proud of was achieved in the developments of Beverly Hills Lake Estates I & II, Santa Barbara, and Catalina Cove Lake Estates. Ken left behind and will be missed dearly by his fianc, Kay Goss, two children Ken Taylor II and Tiffany Taylor, his mother, Nettie Lou Taylor, a sister Beverly Taylor, his aunt Jean Stoner of Woodward, OK. He was preceded in death by his father J.C . Memorial donations can be made to the Journey of Faith First Baptist Church Building Fund.
