Danny William Taylor
May 7, 1958 - March 12, 2017
Danny William Taylor was born on May 7, 1958 to parents Jack Stephen Taylor and Billie Jean Delahoyde Taylor. He passed away March 12, 2017 at his home in Skiatook, Oklahoma after a great evening spent with friends. Dan the Man, loved his family, had a strong passion as an advocate for persons with disabilities in his professional life and was one of the most kindest, caring friends that many in this room knew and loved. Dan enjoyed camping out and fishing with his family in his early childhood days. He attended kindergarten on Lombard Lane with Billie Jean trying to talk him out from underneath his bed on his first day of school. His remaining years of school he attended Skiatook schools, always a proud Bulldog. Dan participated in band and speech/drama classes. He won several competitions both regionally and at state in speech debates. Dan also graduated from Claremore Junior College now Rogers State College with an Associate degree in Business. He was fortunate enough in his early adult years to travel to Switzerland visiting friend Marco, touring the beautiful country side. In his adult years, Dan had quite a green thumb, enjoying yard work and growing flowers. This man loved crappie fishing with family and friends. Some of his best memories and ours involved a noodling trip or fishing at the Round Hole. Dan also loved his part time bartending gig and his Fountain friends. His laughter wit and sense of humor will be kept in our hearts for years to come. In his professional life he worked the last 14 years with Res Care, a company that supports individuals with disabilities. He worked long hours, always carried a pager and carried a large load, insuring individuals were respected and properly cared for that all the laws/guidelines from the state of Oklahoma were met and that Res Care was always represented correctly with all parties. As the Associate Director, Dan carried a stressful load, often traveling to assist in Shawnee, Tahlequah, Enid and Oklahoma City for these special individuals. Dan had a passion for people. Most often he always put others before himself. Dan is survived by his mother Billie Jean Taylor of Skiatook; Uncle Don Taylor of Grove, OK; Aunt Charlene Harville of Skiatook; his siblings: Renee Reed of Gardner, KS; Jack Taylor Jr. of Skiatook; Dan's nieces and nephews that he always bragged about: Andrea Golden-Reed and husband Larry and great nephew Lincoln Taylor all of Tulsa; Dawn Shultz and husband Luke and great nieces Tulsa Shae and Destin Swaide all of Manhattan, KS; Garrett Reed and wife Megan and great nephew Paxton David and great niece Lakyn Brittany all of Collinsville, OK; Lauren Reed and fiancé Michael Priester both of Skiatook; Jeremy Taylor and wife Michelle and great nephews Colton, Nick, Tyler and Cory, great niece Emilee Renee all of Skiatook; Josh Taylor and wife Elizabeth and great nephews Noah and Cooper all of Skiatook; a host of cousins including: Don Roy Taylor, Steve Taylor and wife Marilyn and Brett Taylor all of Tulsa; Randy Smith and wife Nancy, Mike Smith, Tonya Smith Rockwell and her partner Clint, Richard Davis and Becky Davis, great friends include: Saundra Patterson, Beau Lane Baker, Eugene and Carlene Lorance, all of the bar boys and girls, his other Skiatook Fountain family and friends. Anyone that crossed Dan's path will always remember his gentle smile, those twinkling blue eyes and that laugh, that wonderful laugh. So it's good bye and so long for now. We will keep you forever in our memories and hearts. Enjoy your new fishing hole with PaPa Taylor, David, Uncle William and Rick Thomas. We will see you on the other side, Dan the Man!
