Clyde Edward Searles

Clyde Edward Searles passed away on January 13, 2022, in Wann, Oklahoma at the age of 88. Clyde was born to Edward Emmitt Searles and Nellie Mae on May 22, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He grew up the son of a jockey and went to Foyil Oklahoma High school, as well as Coffeyville Vo-tech. He worked at RCN Ranch around the Claremore Area, and a guest ranch for children in the Tulsa area. He also operated a hog farm in South Coffeyville, Ok. Clyde worked for Acme Foundry in Coffeyville for 32 years before retiring. He and Joanne ran the CJ5 Guest Ranch in Noxie,Ok for many years and had a horse ranch at his home for 60 years. On July 1, 1961, Clyde married the love of his life, Mary Joanne (Purkey). He was the Lenepah FFA honorary Chapter Farmer in 1982. He enjoyed creating and hand making western décor, although his greatest passion in life was horses. He loved riding, raising, and taking care of them. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmitt Edward Searles; his mother, Nellie Mae Guthrie; brothers Joshua "Buck" Swain and Larry Larae Searles; his sisters, Lilly Allen, Pauline Iona Searles, Hazel Cox, and Edith Desilver. Clyde is survived by his wife Joanne, of the home; children Jim Searles of El Dorado, Kansas, Steve Searles, of Rocky, Oklahoma, Larry Searles and wife Brenda of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Cathy Stacy and husband Kevin, of Delaware, Oklahoma and Candy Edwards and husband Craig, of Ralls, Texas; grandchildren Jimmy (J.C.) Harden, Justin Searles, Tyler Searles, Lakin Taylor and husband Ivan, Lexie Beyer and husband Jonathon, Brody Searles, Cassey Tignanelli and husband Joey, Blane Stacy and wife Judy, Casey Jo Martinez, Collin Campbell, and Conner Campbell; great grandchildren Harper Harden, Aadison and Nattalyn Searles, Edward and Eli Taylor, John Beyer, Gracey and Jett Tignanelli, Luke Stacy, and Charlotte and Madilyn Martinez. Masks will be provided for those attending if they wish. There will be a potluck dinner during the visitation.
