Charles Allen Jay Sr.

June 11, 1934 - April 13, 2022

Charles Allen Jay Sr., 87, of Bartlesville, OK, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022. He was born June 11, 1934, at Eureka, Kansas, to Lutie Magdalene (Morgan) and Leslie Theodore Jay. He attended Havana High School in Kansas, where he later graduated from in 1952. He worked for Boeing in Wichita, KS, for a short time and then spent the rest of his working career with Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville for a total of 43 years. While working for Phillips, he proudly served in the Armed Forces for 6 years, before retiring from Phillips on January 1, 1996. He is survived by Sandra (Witzel) Jay of the home, his wife of 39 years, his son Charles A. Jay Jr., of Oklahoma City, daughter Anita Hazelwood of Bartlesville, stepson John Anderson (Penney) of Bartlesville, stepdaughter Patty Doshier (Clyde) of Bartlesville, his sister Barbara Wilson of Coffeyville, sister Jeanetta Logan of Havana, his brother David Jay (Donna) of Bartlesville, brother Phillip Jay (Barbie) of Caney, Kansas, his sister-in-law Jerre Jay of Copan, OK, as well as 8 grandchildren: Casey Vaughn, Christopher Vaughn, Chance Anderson, Shelby Pierce, Erica Anderson, Ashley Anderson, Shania Anderson, and Max Doshier, and 3 great-grandchildren: Braden Vaughn, Gavin Vaughn, and Emmett Pierce. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lutie and Leslie Jay, his brother Earl Jay, and his brother Don Jay. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 18, at 2pm at Dewey Cemetery and is under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations are made to the Journey Home in remembrance of Charles Allen Jay Sr.
