Carolyn Ann Parman Hopkins was born April 8, 1941, the daughter of Robert Benjamin Parman and Verna Marie Barker Parman in Odessa, Mo. Her parents moved many times during her elementary school years moving to Independence, Kansas after her eighth-grade graduation from Stanley, Kansas. She attended all four years of high school in Independence when she met her high school sweetheart Larry Hopkins. They married September 12, 1959, and have been married sixty-two wonderful years. In 1977 Larry was ordained a paster and they have served the Lord together ever since, pastoring in Odessa Mo. And Fredericksburg, Texas. They also have ministered together in Bartlesville and many other places. She is s proud mother of four children who survive her: Kym Dyane Whitmore and son-in-love Stan, Bartlesville, Brenda Kay Arnold, Bartlesville, Susan Lynn Gross and son-in-love Rusty, Freeport, Florida, Jason Gilbert Hopkins and daughter-in-love Stacy, Bartlesville. She is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Kalob Ulrich Gantenbein in 1987, her son-in-love Jay Arnold, January 2021, and her precious granddaughter Kristi Sue Gantenbein September 2021. Carolyn’s great joy has been serving Father God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. Her first experience with Jesus was at age 4, at 12 she received Jesus as her savior at a youth meeting in Kenneth, Kansas. In February of 1972 she experienced the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Her next greatest delight was being with her family. In her eyes wither ministry, business, sports, or music they could do no wrong and were the best in whatever they did. Another thing she loved doing was RV’ing with her husband. That could be called her happy place on earth. In her words, and I quote her- “My greatest joy would be to know that everyone in this room or building will go to heaven, The only way to heaven is to accept Jesus Christ into your life. Pastor Buie will pray the prayer of salvation and I’d like all of you to repeat after him and believe it in your heart. I love all of you very much. Thank you for being such a joy in my life. I also want to thank my wonderful Husband for his love and say how much I love him.” Amen
