Funeral services for Bobby Ray Potts Sr., 65 of Sand Springs, Oklahoma were held Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel, with Carla Waldrup officiating. Interment in Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma was under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Casket bearers for the service were Dustin Allen, Sam Adams, Daniel Newton, Cody Newton, Gordon Mosier and Craig Mosier. Musical selections for the service were "Daddy's Hands", "On The Wings Of A Snow White Dove", "The Old Rugged Cross", "I Can Only Imagine" and "Awesome God" with vocalist David Rushing and Carla Waldrup. Military honors were done by the VFW Honor Guard District 5 Rifle Team. Bobby passed away on September 19, 2011 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He was born February 3, 1946 in Wasco, California to Luther LeRoy and Betty Lou (Watkins) Potts. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from February 14, 1967 to February 13, 1973. He married Carla Reed, she preceded him in death on January 3, 2004. Bobby supported himself and family as an auto mechanic. He had lived in Glenpool before moving to Sand Springs where he had lived the last six and a half years. He married Alexis Stevens on March 11, 2005. He is survived by his wife Alexis of the home, four children: Bobby Ray Potts Jr. and wife Jody of Jackson, Michigan; Floyd Potts and wife Cinda of Bartlesville; Melissa Adams and husband Sam of Haskell; Evelyn Jo Allen and husband Dustin of Bixby; three stepchildren: David Newton of Sapulpa; Dean Newton and wife Peggy of Sand Springs: Shannon Jenkins of Three Oaks, Michigan; 23 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, four siblings: Linda Mitchell of Hope, Arkansas; Lee Mitchell and wife Isabell of Houston, TX; Dorene Mosier and husband Tim of Hope, Arkansas; Arnold Potts and wife Janet of Texarkana, TX; 2 half siblings: Sharon Pugh and husband Howard of Skiatook; John Box of Mannford; three sister in laws: Marjorie Sterling and husband Art of Spokane, Washington; Charlene Lenox of Stonewall, OK; Kitty Farmer and husband David of Conroe, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Carla.
