Wayne Lee Hermanson

Wayne Lee Hermanson entered eternally life unexpectedly on January 1, 2019 with his loving wife Crystal at his side. Wayne was born July 31 to Andrew Hermanson and Louise Flemmer in Lisbon, ND. His childhood was spent on the farm with his grandparents Valentine and Anna Olk. He treasured the memories made on the farm with his grandparents, his Uncle Glen, sister Sandy, and brother Dwight. Wayne graduated from Lisbon High School and spent his early years working on potato farms. Wayne made his career in the pipeline industry starting at the bottom and working his way to the top. He took an early retirement from working as Superintendent over all Pipeline projects for Sinclair Oil in 2008, but as a true pipeliner, in 2009 he went back to work for the pipeline as an Inspector over various pipeline projects. Wayne often joked with Crystal “just one more year” because he loved what he did and he truly enjoyed his pipeline family. In his spare time, Wayne enjoyed watching westerns, sightseeing, reading, and museums, but his true passion was woodworking. He often made cedar trunks, rolltop breadboxes, and home furniture among many things. The pipeline took Wayne to Carrollton, MO where he would meet the love of his life, Crystal. They made their home on a farm outside of town in 1998. On the farm, they enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. Both Wayne and Crystal loved visiting Wyoming’s Red Desert where they would share their passion for wild horses. Wayne’s best friend Jimmy would often join them in Wyoming to camp and hunt for arrowheads. He also enjoyed a pastime of golfing with his children Tammy, Tracy, and Troy. Wayne was a member of Shriner’s International and National Rifle Association. Wayne is survived by his wife Crystal, of the home, his sister Sandy (Arne) Olson, three sons, Todd, Troy, and Dustin, four daughters Tracy, Tammy, Staci, and Jennifer along with several grandchildren. Wayne is preceded in death by his grandparents, Valentine and Anna Olk, father Andrew Hermanson, mother Louise Flemmer, brother Dwight Hermanson, uncle Glen Olk, Uncle John Olk, son Kaleb Earl McAlvain, mother-in-law Dollie Jane Johnson-Cummings, and sister-in-law Anna McBroom. Wayne will always be remembered as a good man, husband, father, PaPa, boss and friend. He never met a stranger and was good to all who were blessed to know him. Here’s to 39 and holding!! It was Wayne’s wishes that a memorial service or funeral to not take place upon his passing and Crystal has chosen to respect his wishes. Wayne will be cremated and his ashes will be spread across the Red Desert in Wyoming, where he found peace and loved to be.
