Roger Dale Clay Mr. Roger Dale Clay, 84, of Bartlesville, died at 11:06 P.M. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Journey Home in Bartlesville. Funeral services for Mr. Clay will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ with Mr. David Hammonds officiating. Funeral services and cremation are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home until 9 P.M. daily. Memorial funds have been established and those who wish may send their contributions to Hope Harbor Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1047, Claremore, Oklahoma, 74018 or to the Journey Home, 3406 S.E. Kentucky, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006. Mr. Clay was born in Okuskee County, Oklahoma on March 2, 1931 the son of Oscar Jasper and Edith (Shaver) Clay. As a child he moved with his family to Okemah where he grew up and received his education, graduating from Okemah High School in 1950. He then attended Oklahoma A & M at Stillwater where he graduated in 1954 with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical. Arts. He was married to Laurena Palmeter at the Second & Adams Church of Christ in Elk City, Oklahoma on August 8, 1954 and they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in August of this year. He taught Industrial Arts and Drafting for one year at Caldwell , Kansas until moving to Bartlesville in October 1955 when he was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company. Mr. Clay was a draftsman in the Engineering Department at Phillips until his retirement. He was a member of the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ. Mr. Clay is survived by his wife, Laurena Clay of the home in Bartlesville, three sons, Brad Collin Clay and wife Brenda of Tulsa, Dick Alan Clay and wife Robin of Springfield, Missouri, and Tom Clay and wife Gina of Edmond, Okla., one brother, Fred Clay and wife Ilene of Henryetta, Okla., two sisters, Freda Evans and husband Cecil and Joyce Earnst all of Midland, Texas, eight grandchildren, Sheila Chesney and husband Dan, Amy Garrison and husband Bryan, Mitchel Clay and wife Nathana, Tressa Clay, Jonathan Clay and wife Alisha, Collin Clay, Garrett Clay and Landon Clay, and seven great grandchildren, Dillon Chidester, Alexis Chidester, Aliyah Hendrix, Lauren Chesney, Hunter Garrison, Levi Garrison and Rebekah Clay. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister.
