Paul Ray Jackson

Paul Ray Jackson, 72, of Wann passed away on October 5, 2019 at Jane Phillips Hospital Paul was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on July 6, 1947 to parents James Jessie Jackson and Lula Mae Lane. Paul attended Bartlesville grade school through Junior High and then went to College High his sophomore and junior year. He ended up graduating from Dewey High School in 1965. After graduating Paul started working at the Lumber Yard in Dewey. Then he decided to go work for TG&Y Emerson Electric in Independence. Later on in his life he went on to work for Walmart. Paul really enjoyed retail sales, so he decided O’Reilly Auto Parts was the job for him. He was such a hard worker and it showed as he received awards from both Emerson Electric and O’Reilly. He served in the Army Reserves from 1966-1971. Paul married Andrea Warren in 1966 and the couple later divorced. In August of ’79 he married Deena Marie Cribbs and they have been together since. Paul enjoyed fishing, especially trout fishing at Roaring River State Park is Missouri. You could always count on him being at the flea market or the poultry swap in Afton, OK. Paul also coached kids’ baseball and wrestling in Independence and Caney and was also a Poultry Judge for some of the County Fairs in the area. He was very active in his church Ridin’ for the Brand in Wann, Oklahoma. Paul is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Laci Lou Jackson; brother, Jimmy Jackson; sister, Viola Barnes; son-in-law, Larry Amberg and daughter-in-law, Maggie Jackson. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Deena Marie Jackson; son, Charles Jackson of Liberty, MO, son, Bill and wife Lesley of Mounds, OK son, Jimmy and wife Kellie Jackson of Fort Scott, KS; daughter Rebecca and husband Allen Brown of Skiatook, OK, daughter, Christe Jackson Apperson of Cushing, OK; daughter, Deena Rae Jackson of Drumright, OK. 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In Lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to his wife, Deena M. Jackson. A Memorial Service will be at 3:00 pm Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Ridin’ for the Brand Church in Wann, Oklahoma with inurnment to follow at Havana Cemetery in Havana, Kansas.
