Lillian Nadean Myers

Lillian Nadean Myers passed away on February 12, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born on May 2, 1932, in Osage, Oklahoma. After graduating from Hominy High School in 1950, she attended business school. Following business school, she was employed as a secretary at Phillips Petroleum. On April 18, 1952, she married Orville Lee Myers Jr., she spent the rest of her working years tending to the home and caring for her children. Lillian enjoyed traveling across the United States, Ireland, Canada, the Holy Lands, and Sweden. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other special occasion was a memorable time for all in attendance. She was an accomplished cook and decorator, making her home a welcoming place. She and her husband joined several other family’s that would become the Charter Members of the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church. She would continue to serve in various positions over the next 40 years. One of her more cherished positions was spent serving as one of the “Wednesday Cooks”. She also participated for many years in the church quilting group for missions. Her most treasured times were attending every event in which her children and grandchildren participated. A handwritten note found in Nadean’s desk reads “Mothers write on the hearts of their children what the world’s toughest hands cannot erase.” This quote expresses the legacy of love, devotion, and values invested in her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lottie Faye Sutterfield; husband, Orville Lee Myers Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Ava Claire Brashear. Nadean is survived by her daughters, Michelle Gay, Melissa Tabisz and husband Richard, and Marcia Taylor and husband Rod; grandchildren, Rick Smith, Eric Smith and wife Tara, Lacey Taylor, Aaron Taylor and wife Madison, Joel Brashear and wife Kasi, Jordan and fiancé Christian Savory, and James Brashear; great-grandchildren, Tanner Carter, Madison Smith, Hunter Smith, Teagan Smith, Teric Smith, Tindell Smith, Amelia Brashear, Jonah Brashear, Judson Brashear, and Olivia Taylor to be born in April. The funeral service will be held Friday February 17, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church Mission Fund or The Journey Home.
