Doris Juanita Marler

MRS. DORIS JUANITA MARLER Mrs. Doris J. Marler, 93, of Nowata, went to be with her lord and savior on Sunday, March, 2, 2014 at 11:20 P.M., with her loving family at her side. She was the daughter of James H. and Rosetta (Inman) Dildine. She grew up and received her education in Nowata County. She was married to Gail E. Marler on December 24, 1937. They were married for 48 wonderful years and had six children. Doris was a member of Hillside Christian Church in Nowata. She was a homemaker when her children were small. She was a member of the OHCE Adair club for 67 years. Doris had worked on the election board, and she was the director of the Nowata Senior Citizens for 18 years, was the Citizen of the year in 2010; and was the Grand Marshall of the Christmas Parade that year. She was also a Sunday school teacher and a neighbor when you needed her. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday at the Hillside Christian Church in Nowata, with Rev. Van Longbons pastor of Hillside Christian Church, and Rev. Ben Killion, former pastor officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Nowata. The Family will receive friends and have a Visitation from 6 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday Evening at the Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home. Funeral Services are under the direction of the Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home. Survivors include one sister, Colleene E. Schmitt of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, by her six children; Ralph Marler and his wife Soja of Owasso, Monty Marler of Sweet Springs, Mo., daughters Gayla Taylor and husband David of Bartlesville, Twyla Scamahorn and her husband Jerry, of Nowata, Brenda Hedman and her husband Oscar of Nowata, and Marsha Hewitt and her husband Floyd of Nowata, her best friend; Don Cartwright of Delaware, by seventeen grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and by 3 great-great grandchildren, and one on the way. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Gail, her parents, two brothers and three sisters. She will be missed greatly by her family and her friends.
