Cleda "Jeanette" Brown

Cleda Jeanette Brown of Bartlesville, OK finished her long walk on Earth on 14 August 2026. She is the beloved great grandmother, grandmother, mother, and sister as well as a loyal Bartian of sixty five years. Jeanette graduated Argentine High School, KS where her first job was working for Woolworth Dime Store. She would graduate from Kansas City, Kansas Junior College while working at Ford Motor Co. and Prudential Life Insurance Co.. While in junior college, she played basketball and married the coach, Billy Paul Brown on January 30, 1952. After he completed his studies at University of Kansas and served as an Engineer in the US Army, they moved to Bartlesville where Bill was hired on at Phillips Petroleum Company. Jeanette was devoted to her family as a skilled and nurturing homemaker and a life-long woman of faith as a student of Christian Science. She played on the Phillips Volleyball 2nd Team well into her later years. She joined Adams Golf Club in 1966 and became an avid player, championing the City of Bartlesville Women Championship multiple years, including a most prized competition when she won the net low Championship in 2013. Jeanette’s highest State honor was being Medalist in the WOGA State Championship in 1977. She committed also to leading other women to golf serving as President of the Adams Golf Course Women’s Golf Association. Jeanette’s parents were E. Lloyd Carriger and Cledafay Hankins Carriger of Kansas City, KS and her two siblings predecease her, a brother Clyde Carriger and sister Mary Louise Dubois. In her final round, she is survived by her sister Mika Seever and brother-in-law Ron of Shawnee, Kansas. A son Douglas Paul Brown and wife Barbara of Buckeye, AZ; Dee Lloyd Brown and wife Sondra of Houston, TX; Linda Kay Brown and husband Timothy S. Heinemann, COL., USA, Retired. Grandchildren Kimberly Morrison and Husband Garrett of Chandler, AZ; Melody Clevenger and husband Spencer of Neptune Beach, FL; Joseph John Colliatie IV of Jacksonville, FL, Cody Lloyd Brown of Houston, TX. Three great grandchildren Cameron Brown, Charlotte Morrison, Cash Coleman Clevenger, Christian Clevenger.
