Cecil Leroy Snyder

Cecil Leroy Snyder, age 88, passed away on July 11, 2026, in Bartlesville Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of his family. Cecil was born on February 17, 1938, in Hopeton, Oklahoma, to Fred and Clina Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Eugene, Kenneth, and Betty; and his beloved wife, Gretta. He is survived by his children, Tamra and husband Rusty, Troy and wife Carolyn, Debbie and husband Tom, Don and wife Mosh, Derek and wife Marty. He also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly. Cecil attended the University of Oklahoma, where he played baseball and became a lifelong Sooners fan. He continued his education at Northwestern State College, where he earned his degree. After graduation, he made Bartlesville, Oklahoma, his home and enjoyed a long career with Phillips Petroleum before later working at Nowata Printing. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Cecil remained active long after his college playing days. He proudly played on the Phillips Petroleum Men's Club Fast Pitch Softball Team and was inducted into the FPMC Hall of Fame. He also spent many years officiating junior high and high school basketball and football games, where his love of athletics, sportsmanship, and fair play left a lasting impression on countless young athletes. Away from the ball field, Cecil enjoyed a friendly game of golf and was especially proud of his pool-playing skills, never missing an opportunity to show them off with family and friends. Above all, Cecil was a devoted servant of the Lord whose faith guided every aspect of his life. He was kindhearted, caring, generous with his time, and passionate about the things he loved. Known for his playful sense of humor, Cecil had a gift for making people smile and laugh. Whether sharing a story, cheering from the sidelines, or simply spending time with those he loved, he brought warmth and joy wherever he went. Cecil's legacy of faith, love, laughter, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stumpff Funeral Home, 1600 SE Washington Boulevard, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Cecil will be laid to rest at the Alva Municipal Cemetery on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 1:00pm in the Snyder family plot. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Cecil's memory to a charity of your choice.
