Bonita Louise McGrew

Bonita Louise McGrew, 79, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on December 4, 2024. Bonita was born on August 3, 1945, in Bartlesville, OK, to her parents, John Barton Hudson and Frances Mary Thaxton-Hudson. Bonita was raised in Dewey, OK, and attended Dewey Public Schools. On February 28, 1959, Bonita Louise Hudson married Garland “Gary” Richard McGrew in Nowata, OK. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and had two wonderful sons, Danny and Barty. Bonita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a cherished member of the Delaware Tribe community. For the past four years, Bonita dedicated herself to serving as Chair of the Delaware Tribe Trust Board Committee for the elders' community. During this time, she made significant contributions to the well-being of her tribal community and the preservation of its cultural legacy. Bonita loved playing bingo at the Eagles Hall with her friends, attending the Delaware Powwow, watching football and baseball with her family, and most of her weekends were spent cheering on her great-grandchildren, Hudson and Everleigh, at their sporting events. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader in life! Bonita was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Hudson, her son Danny McGrew, and four siblings, Jenny Lee Hammond, Kelly Jay Hudson, Johnny Leon Hudson, and Marilyn Sue Buck. She is survived by her husband, Gary McGrew, of the home; son, Bart McGrew, and wife, Tammy McGrew of Shawnee, OK; daughter-in-law, Pam McGrew of Kansas, OK; granddaughter, Alicia McGrew of Hillsboro, Oregon; granddaughter, Jordan Clopp and husband, Braxton Clopp of Tulsa, OK; great-grandson, Hudson Clopp of Tulsa, OK; great-granddaughter, Everleigh Clopp of Tulsa, OK; numerous cousins, extended family and friends. Visitation Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville, OK. Funeral services held December 11 at 2 p.m., at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville, OK with Pastor Dean Bridges officiating.
