Mr. Andrew Kelly Musgrave Jr.

Andrew (Andy) Kelly Musgrave, Jr., age 91, passed away December 12, 2021 in Bartlesville, OK. Andy was born November 12, 1930 at home in Okmulgee, OK to Andrew Kelly Musgrave, Sr. and Goldie May (Swafford) Musgrave. He attended Franklin, Checotah, Roosevelt, Webster and Horace Mann Elementary schools and Okmulgee High School, graduating in 1948. He participated in football, basketball and baseball and was a member of the 1947 High School State Championship Football team. He was also very active in the Boy Scouts, achieving Eagle Scout Rank, and later serving as Water Front and Activities Director at Camp Burke and Assistant Scout Master. Andy attended Northeastern A&M College, Miami, OK in 1950 where he studied Business and played football. He received a football scholarship to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, OK. He lettered in varsity football and baseball and graduated with a Business Degree in 1952. Andy served in the U.S. Navy from September 1952 until December 1955 at the Officer Candidate School, Newport, RI, aboard aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea and at Atlantic Moth Ball Fleet, Green Cove Springs, FL. In Green Cove Springs, he met and married Georgia Rue Welch in 1954. Andy and Georgia moved to Bartlesville in 1956 when he was employed with Phillips Petroleum Co. He worked in the Human Resources Department in Employee Relations, International, Research and Development until his retirement in 1986. Andy served as a Deacon and Elder for his church, coached Little League Baseball, including head coach of the 1975 Little League All Star Team. Andy served in various volunteer positions with the Boy Scouts, Hope Harbor Children’s Home and Family Ministries on the Board of Directors and enjoyed many Freewheel Oklahoma bicycle tours. Survivors include daughters, Linda (Steve) Flatt, Cookeville, TN, Andra (Robert) Adrian, Cary, NC, Brenda Musgrave, Carollton, TX; son, Kelvan (Donna) Musgrave, Dallas, TX, Duane (Jennifer) Roseborough, Bartlesville. Grandchildren are Benton Flatt, Zachary Adrian, Bryan Adrian, Alyssa (Zach) Adrian Duggan, Mason Musgrave, Hannah Roseborough, Heidi Roseborough, and great grandson, Walker Duggan, also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Andy was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Musgrave, parents Andrew and Goldie Musgrave, sisters, Lucille (Virgil) Kessler, Lois (Jack) Barger, Fay (Roy) Shrum, Florence (Randall) Petross, Betty (N.E.) Vivar and Barbara (Frank) Frazier and brother Ray (Wanda) Musgrave. Funeral Services will be held at the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ at 11AM on Thursday December 16, 2021, 3700 SE Adams Blvd, Bartlesville.
