Shirley Perry, 76, died at 12:45 A.M. on Sunday in Tulsa.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dan Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Family Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Stumpff Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
A memorial has been established in honor of Mrs. Shirley Perry to the Diabetes Foundation and contributions may be sent to 6600 S. Yale, Tulsa, Oklahoma; 74136-3346.
The daughter of Barton L. Templeton and Ruby (Cone) Spears, Shirley was born February 24, 1936 in Bartlesville, OK. She loved the rodeo and was a Champion Barrel Racer and Rodeo Queen for 18 years. Shirley worked as a Bookkeeper for IGA grocery from 1970-1974, Perry Concrete Contractors from 1975-1996 and Oxford Health from 1992-2005 as a Nurses Aid. She loved to dance, watch old sitcoms, listening to Bluegrass music and George Strait. Shirley was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was especially close to her grandson, nieces and nephews who referred to her as “G” and “Aunt Shirl”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husbands, Billy Joe McHargue and Jerry Perry; one brother, Terry Perry.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Shannon Perry Green and her husband, Mike, their son, Avery, all of Tulsa; two step-daughters, Donna Perry and her children, Olivya, Kristin and Sara, all of Bartlesville, Deborah Perry and her children, Amandela, Malika and Jahkil, all of Tulsa; one sister, Sheila Ropp and her husband, Lester, of Bartlesville; one brother, David Templeton and his wife, Sharene, of Bartlesville; eight nieces and nephews, Shelest Longnecker, Destry Ropp, Whitney Barnes, Gannon Ropp, Morgan Jenkins, Justin Templeton, Shalisa Klintworth and Brad Billingsley; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
